Dip Dye Hair: How To

As promised, here is a guide to how we dip dyed our hair last summer. We used Colour Xtreme Hair Art Spray (read my review here)

Start off with clean hair, style it before you start too. I cant remember whether i attempted to style my hair whilst i had it coloured but im guessing it wouldn't work quite as well, and could cause mess due to the texture of the hair spray. Make sure you cover up your clothes before you start too!

Begin at the bottoms of your hair, and work higher and higher up, depending how much of your hair you want to colour. It also looks a lot better if you gradient it, so make the colour darker towards the end by building it up and spraying closer to your hair, then as you get higher up spray from a further distance so the colour gets lighter. You can continue to add to it until the colour is how you would like it. The best thing is just to have a bit of an experiment really, having someone there to help you is probably a good option.

Once you have finished, your hair will be quite wet due to the spray, and using an old brush (the colour will rub off onto it) thoroughly brush your hair so that it doesn't dry all stuck together. You will find the texture is quite hasky and rough but fortunately it doesn't stay quite as stiff and after a few hours it should start to feel a little softer, this is a downside to using the hair spray.

I wanted to keep my hair coloured for as long as possible, however after a day or two the colour had faded from bright blue to a more turquoisy-green as you can see on this picture and my hair needed washing, the spray washes out instantly!

Hope this helps slightly!

Miracle Oil With Argan Oil

I've been wanting to try the argan oil hair treatments for a long time now, but with the hefty price tag of anywhere between £10-£20 i was a little put off. Whilst shopping with my mum the other day i noticed this in Aldi. Carino Professional 'Miracle Oil' with argan oil for the bargain price of £3.99! It's a 50ml bottle, which in my opinion, depending on how frequent you use it, could last you anywhere between 2-3 months.

The oil claims to strengthen, smooth and seal in shine and states it is for all hair types. The packaging recommends you use as a leaving in conditioner treatment, but i prefer to use it on my hair when i've dried/styled it. At first the product seems to feel like it would leave your hair feeling greasy but i can safely say it didn't one bit and instead left my hair feeling smooth and silky. And thats just after one use! Overall i would definitely recommend this product as a cheaper alternative as it does just the job!

Aussie Dual Personality Curl Definition and Soft Feel Serum

So I decided to pick this up last week due to the 3 for 2 on at boots across haircare and accesories - it was £4.99.

When I first squirted some out, I didn't expect it to be so runny and I basically got it all over my clothes and face haha, not a good time. So yes, beware. But other than it's water-like formation, I think it is a lovely product. It smells lovely and fruity (as with all of Aussie's products) and it makes my hair really soft without any grease whatsoever.
For the 'curl definition' side of things, I think it is OK. I don't have really curly hair, but if I let it dry naturally (which I normally do) then it goes wavy. It does minimize frizz, which I suppose aids in more defined curls.

I would recommend this because of it's fruity smell and it's low price, and I think it would be really good if you were trying to condition and soften your hair.

What are your favourite products for curls?

See you later!
